Frequently Asked Questions

What is UGC?

UGC (User Generated Content) is content that looks and feels like a real person genuinely using and loving a product — not a polished ad, not a celebrity endorsement, just a real person. It's the type of content people actually pay attention to when scrolling, because it feels authentic and looks like something a friend posted.

How do I make money?

You create content for brands and they pay you for it. You reach out to brands, pitch them, agree on a price, create the content, send it to them, and they pay you. The brand then uses your content in their own ads. You get paid up front for your work. Starting out, creators might charge $150–$250 per video; as you build your portfolio and skills you can charge $500, $1,000, $1,500, or even $2,000+ per video. You can also work with multiple brands in the same week to scale your income.

What is the difference between being an influencer and a UGC creator?

They are completely different business models. An influencer needs followers and a big audience — brands pay them to promote products to their audience, so income is tied to follower count and engagement. A UGC creator doesn't need any followers or an audience at all — brands pay you for the content itself, which they use in their own ads. Your income is tied to the quality of your content and how many brands you work with. You could have 200 followers and still make $10k+/month, because brands don't care about your follower count — they care whether you can create content that sells.

How much time do I need to dedicate to see success?

When starting out, you need to dedicate time to three things: learning the skills (scripting, filming, editing), building your portfolio, and pitching brands. In the beginning, plan for 10–15 hours a week if you want to move fast. You can do it with less time, but it will just take longer to see results. Once you land your first brand deals and build your systems, the time commitment goes down significantly — pitching less, spending more time creating for brands you've already landed. The key is treating it like a real business, not a side hobby.

Who do you create content for?

You create content for brands. Every brand you see online needs content — ads for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, product demos, testimonials, and fresh content constantly. You can work with brands across any niche, and you get to choose which ones to pitch. Examples include skincare, fitness, food and beverage, pet products, tech, home goods, fashion, baby products, and more — from huge names like Vaseline, Blue Apron, Petco, and Meta, to small startups and DTC brands.

How is UGC Mastery Academy different from all the other online gurus?

Most gurus sell you a course and disappear — pre-recorded videos, maybe a Facebook group, and you're on your own. UGC Mastery Academy operates differently: you get actual one-on-one coaching. You have a dedicated coach who knows your name and your goals, walking you through every step. They have a team of 52 and growing people focused on service and transparency. They also tell you upfront that you'll have to do the work — they're not selling a fantasy. Additionally, they back it up with a results-based money-back guarantee: if you follow the system and don't get results, we'll refund you. We've helped over 600 students, with results like Izzy making $7k/month in 90 days, Liz making $10k/month part-time, and Alex hitting her first $9k month.

What do I get when I join UGC Mastery Academy?

It's a done-with-you, one-on-one coaching program. You get: full access to an online training program (step-by-step, beginner-friendly modules covering how to create a portfolio, how to film UGC videos, how to find brands, how to land brand deals and convert them into monthly retainers); a personal one-on-one coach you can text and voice message daily via an app; one-on-one Zoom calls with your coach; access to an online community where wins, what's working, and active brand opportunities are shared every day. The program is designed so you eventually don't need the team anymore — you build the skills to run it independently
